School-based English Language Curriculum

Our school-based English Language Curriculum includes the following key components:

1. General English Programme
♢ A story book approach for P.1 to P.3.
♢ School-based English programme with a series of textbooks for P.4 to P.6
♢ Phonics Programme, Learning Centre and Speaking Programme by NET and ELTA

2. Reading Workshops
♢ Drama education for P.1 to P.6
♢ Various Reading programmes like Home Reading Programme, Term Reading Programme, Holiday Reading Programme, etc

3. Cross-curricular Programme
♢ Cross-curricular linkage among different subjects like Mathematics, General Studies, Technology and Innovation, Visual Arts and Music to lay a good foundation for students’ lifelong learning

4. Intervention Programme
♢ Short and focused programmes as part of the Remedial Programme to support students who have exhibited difficulties in learning English.
♢ Remedial Teaching Programme during ISMART sessions

5. Enrichment Programme
♢ Challenging tasks, workshops and activities for our gifted students during English lessons, ISMART sessions or after class time

6. Life-wide Learning
♢ Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities for our students to experience learning through meaningful use of English in authentic settings.
