Leadership Training

In order to nurture SPCCPS students to be future leaders, the Student Development Department provides leadership programmes such as Prefects, Student Ambassadors and Big Brothers Big Sisters Scheme all of which advocate teamwork, enhance leadership and promote mutual respect among people.

The Student Development Department seeks opportunities for our students to serve the school community and beyond, so as to unleash their leadership potential. Prefects primarily assist teachers to maintain order and look after lower primary students while they are in school. They also participate in volunteer work organised by NGOs that includes visits to people-in-need and environmental conservation work. These service opportunities help our prefects, as citizens of the 21st century, to develop a global perspective, foster environment stewardship and the desire to serve humanity.

The student ambassadors also make up of a large part of the Student Development Department. Not only do these selected students receive regular training through different workshops, they are also provided with the valuable opportunity to escort guests around the school. With abundant knowledge about the school facilities and their life as a student, the student ambassadors often make our guests feel at home. These cherished experiences also build upon their communication and leadership skills.

Upper primary students often take up an additional role in the Big Brothers and Sisters Scheme. To ensure the lower primary students are able to settle in a new environment comfortably, experienced students often assist them in handling learning and developing self-management skills. Through a wide variety of services, students demonstrate their abilities to care for and serve those in need, creating future role models for society.
